- A selection committee is responsible for receiving applications. organizing selection meetings, making selection decisions, and disseminating selection decisions as necessary.
- Applications for new sponsorship are accepted throughout the year. The selection committee starts the selection procedure once the applications for a given area are complete.
- Child should be enrolled between the ages of 2 and 9, with the exceptions of children whose parent(s) died abruptly.
- Child must be in a state of hardship
- Child may be living in an area where there are other sponsored children, or where other children are available for sponsorship to allow for efficient and effective delivery of sponsorship benefits, and to minimize administrative costs.
- Child may be living in an accessible area and within a reasonable distance, permitting consistent contact between the child and the social worker(s).
- There must not be more than 4 sponsored children per family
- Heads of families must cooperate to meet the basic administrative requirements of sponsorship including letter writing, picture taking and supply of family records.

Eligibility Criteria:
- Family income must be less than or equal to ¢480,000 cedi (CDN 59.35) per month in urban areas and less than or equal to ¢250,000 cedi (CDN 30.91) per month in rural areas.
- Parents must be willing and available to meet with our social workers at least once a month.
- Academic cost for the sponsored child should not be more than $200.00 per annum. This includes admission fee, annual tuition, exams fee, books and other school supplies.
If there are more new eligible children than are new sponsors for a given year, the selection committee shall use the following list of point- earning preferences to award sponsorship to the neediest children.

The selection committee may use any social worker comments presented in the application form to make decisions on who to select.
Once a child is selected for sponsorship, the agency will try its best to provide financial and other resources every year so the child can continue going to school until he or she completes high school education.
The sponsored child and his or her family need to fill out the sponsorship application form every year. The corporation will renew the sponsorship only if the child and family continue to satisfy the eligibility criteria and also the renewal criteria.
Renewal criteria:
- At least 80% school attendance in the previous academic year.
- At least 60% overall passing grade causing promotion to the next school grade.
